Social Security planning
A household decision with lasting effects.
Look beyond a single claiming date.
We help consider when to begin benefits and how that choice fits your investment withdrawals and other income. Claiming retirement benefits early generally reduces the monthly amount; waiting can increase it up to age 70.
The conversation also considers spousal and survivor circumstances, plans to keep working, and how household decisions may interact. We may coordinate with your tax professional when needed. Social Security eligibility and actual benefits are determined by the Social Security Administration.

Accounts in context
A former employer’s plan still deserves a place in the conversation.
A previous employer’s retirement plan may continue to fit your needs. Before moving assets, compare leaving them in the plan, transferring to another eligible employer plan, rolling over to an IRA, or taking a distribution. Availability, costs, services, investment choices, protections, and tax consequences can differ.
UAA has a financial incentive to recommend rolling assets into an account it manages because those assets can generate additional advisory fees. A rollover should be based on your circumstances, not convenience alone.
